When the truck's down,
you're not.
So what is it? A program for working a breakdown call, built to keep your trucks on the road.
It's three in the morning. A driver's on the shoulder — he ran over something lying in the road, and now it's wrapped up in his driveline. He can tell you that much. Knowing what to ask him next is the part nobody hands you on day one.
We can't promise the truck won't break down. What we can do is make your next decision more informed, your mistakes fewer, and your night a lot smoother.

The job
You already know how these calls go.
Some go smooth. The driver knows what he's looking at, the vendor picks up, the parts are on the shelf. This isn't one of those. It takes forever to find a vendor. The driver's short-tempered and won't answer your calls. The cops want to tow the truck, and there's no help within eighty miles. It's four in the morning now, and you just want to go back to sleep.
That's the call this was built for. One of the buttons in here just says not sure, and the one under it says walk me through it — go by what you see, hear, feel. No jargon, no trick questions. That path is there for whoever's holding the phone — the man you hired last month, or you at four in the morning.
You do the thinking. The coordinator tool makes sure everything you need is already sitting in front of you while you work.
And if you run your own truck, you're both people on that call — the one on the shoulder and the one who has to sort it out. That's why it goes where the truck goes.
It works at the desk or on the shoulder
The breakdown happens where the truck is, not where the wifi is, so this runs fully offline — there's no signal to lose and nothing to log into. Works the same on a desk at four in the morning or on a tablet in the cab. Your vendors, your notes, your history: all of it sits on your own machine and never leaves.
A vendor list that puts your people first
After enough years on the same routes you know which shops pick up at two in the morning and which ones do the work right. The list is yours to fill in. Put those shops at the top where they belong, keep a note of whatever you've worked out with them on price, and drop the ones that let you down. Mark the ones you trust and they come up first. For the night you go down somewhere you've never been, it connects you to the lookup services you already use.
Always your decision
Every decision stays yours. Set your own standing rules and they ride along as a clearly labeled note. It's useful when somebody else is covering the phone, and a reminder to yourself when it's your own truck. A note stops short of a tow or a safety emergency, and the tool's own recommendation stands as written. A person drives all of it.
All your reference in one place
Fuse positions, fault codes, where the component sits, parts houses, and messages for the driver you can send without writing them again. The parts list starts empty on purpose — it won't hand you another fleet's part numbers, because a wrong part number sends the wrong part to a breakdown.
This isn't built to diagnose the truck or fix anything. It's built to help you understand what you're looking at and pin down the problem, so the next call you make is better informed. The money you spend goes on the right thing.

Who made it
I've taken this call before.
With well over a decade in roadside triage and auto repair, and thousands of breakdowns behind me. For quite a few of those years I worked for a large trucking fleet with a small road repair team. Thirty-five to forty-five breakdowns a day on a twelve-hour shift. Everything you could imagine — the mundane, the absurd, the chaotic, and a fair share of the downright disturbing.
Through all of it, I was the voice on the other end of the phone.
This is the tool I wanted on the bad nights and never had. A system, a plan, a few things to fall back on. Vendors I trusted to show up when it mattered. Information clear enough to act on.
There's no company behind me. I'm one person, just a guy in Iowa. If something here is wrong, you're writing to me — still the voice on the other end of the line, ready to help.
